Proggy Plus
The pet nutrition and care market is extremely complex: on the one hand, different brands compete through different drivers; on the other, these distinctive features do not always stand out at first glance. As a pet food agency with over thirty years of experience, ATC – All Things Communicate has worked on the strategy and creativity of some of the sector’s leading brands, enhancing the uniqueness of each client through an in-depth understanding of the two main distribution channels: grocery retail, with its more generalist approach, and the specialist channel, where a strong identity can still make all the difference on shelf.

Our relationship with Purina, which dates back to 1992, the year the agency was founded, is the longest-standing testing ground for this expertise. Gourmet holds a special place within this relationship. We support the brand in protecting brand consistency across consumers, trade and internal stakeholders: from the international relaunch of the range, which introduced the first communication hierarchy between main brand and sub-brands, to the European launch of Soup, from the development of the Atelier concept and the Revelations range at the point of sale to collections designed for consumer activation. Alongside this, our work for Felix, Friskies, Pro Plan, ONE and the snack portfolio spans the full spectrum of pet food communication, through to office design and international management events.

Each segment requires its own language, and category communication needs to manage those differences. The Friskies retail project in grocery retail brought the dog and cat ranges together through a mirrored format, creating order in a channel where the two offers coexist. In wet food, where flavour choice is also influenced by texture, for Oasy we developed the naming and packaging for Caprice: a name that promises indulgence and a packaging system that makes the distinction between mousses, chunks and pâtés instantly clear. Purina’s return to snacks, on the other hand, required the codes of impulse purchasing. In dry food, some fundamental feed packaging rules still apply, where the hierarchy on the front and its relationship with the back determine readability, as in our restyling work for Morando’s MigliorCane and MigliorGatto. With MigliorGatto Sterilized and MigliorCane Prestige in particular, we addressed a case of premiumisation within a mainstream range: a new nutritional segment made instantly recognisable, from pack layout through to tray design.

The same expertise serves very different brands. For Lily’s Kitchen, we managed Italian communication and developed a trade presentation box around the Recipes of the World concept, bringing human cuisine and dog nutrition closer together. For Andriani, the pet food packaging for the Proggy Plus range translates a plant-based proposition into a language that is easy for the specialist channel to understand. With Camon, where pet care branding meets the latest pet care trends, the digital campaign for wipes focused on building awareness around an everyday gesture. With Stuzzy, our work covered the entire process: the range packaging, the payoff “Il sapore delle cose buone” and a website designed to serve two audiences at once, with pet owners guided by a product selector based on textures and recipes, alongside trade stakeholders.
